Scans for prints

All of our printing processes require a digital file to print from. It can be either an image captured by a digital camera, original in-computer art, directly scanned flat artwork, or a scan of traditional silver-based films.

Still River Editions can scan flat artwork up to 40"x60" or color or black & white film up to 11"x17". We use high resolution flatbed and dedicated film scanners. The quality of the original greatly affects the quality of the print, so dirty or scratched film will be seen in the final print. Additional computer labor may be required to resolve this issue. We recommend 360ppi resolution scans at the print size required. After your print is approved you will receive a CD or DVD with your final prepared file(s).

All flat artwork for scans needs to be unframed and unmatted. Paintings need to be completely dry.
